Jeremiah Smith: “I’m motivated by relationships, not money. When it comes to staying with Ohio State, I have always loved Ohio State from the depth of my soul due to the connections I’ve built here, the culture, and the support I’ve received from everyone within the program. Ohio State is more than just a football school; it’s a family. From the coaching staff to my teammates, I’ve formed bonds that go beyond just the game.

The relationships I’ve cultivated here are what truly keep me grounded and motivated. Coach Day and the entire staff have shown me unwavering belief and support in my abilities, not just as a player, but as a person. They have built a culture of excellence, where every player is seen and valued. That environment is what drew me here in the first place, and it’s what keeps me invested in this program.

Additionally, the players on this team are like brothers to me. We push each other every day, on and off the field, and that camaraderie is something that’s irreplaceable. There is a sense of pride and responsibility that comes with wearing the Ohio State uniform, and I don’t take that lightly. It’s about building something together, achieving greatness as a team, and supporting one another in every aspect of life.

Ultimately, while the financial aspects of college athletics are important to some, for me, it’s about being part of something bigger. It’s about relationships that go beyond football, about representing Ohio State with honor, and about making lasting memories and impacts on my teammates, coaches, and the community. Money will come and go, but the bonds I’ve formed here are forever, and that’s what truly drives me to stay and continue my journey with Ohio State.”
