Aaron Glenn, now the head coach of the New York Jets, may look to bring some familiar faces from his time with the Detroit Lions. As the Lions search for a new defensive coordinator, several of their free agents could be interested in following Glenn to New York, especially given the defensive system he’s likely to implement, which includes frequent blitzing and man coverage.
Among the potential candidates to join Glenn are some Lions players who have developed strong relationships with him over the past few years. One such player is defensive end Marcus Davenport, whom the Lions took a chance on last offseason. Although injuries have plagued Davenport’s career, limiting him to just six games in the past two seasons and yielding only three sacks in his last 21 games, Glenn could be interested in reuniting with the former first-round pick. The Jets, looking to bolster their pass rush, might consider Davenport as a low-risk addition, given Glenn’s familiarity with him from their time together with the New Orleans Saints.
