Rangers Warned of Celtic’s 10-in-a-Row Threat as Hoops Legend Extends Olive Branch to Clement

Rangers have been warned that they could be risking another decade of Celtic dominance if they fail to respond strongly to the challenge posed by their Old Firm rivals. With Brendan Rodgers’ side currently leading the Scottish Premiership title race, concerns have been raised that the Ibrox club may be allowing history to repeat itself.

Celtic’s dominance between 2011 and 2020 saw them secure a historic nine league titles in a row, with only Rangers’ 2020/21 triumph under Steven Gerrard preventing them from completing the coveted “10-in-a-row.” Now, with Philippe Clement at the helm at Ibrox, former Hoops players and pundits are suggesting that if Rangers don’t halt Celtic’s momentum soon, they could be staring at another lengthy period of green-and-white superiority.

One former Celtic hero, however, has offered a more diplomatic take on the situation. While warning Rangers of the dangers of falling too far behind, he also extended an olive branch to Clement, acknowledging the Belgian’s impact since taking over from Michael Beale. The ex-Celt stated that Clement has brought stability and a fighting spirit to Rangers but stressed that he must be backed properly in the transfer market to ensure his team can compete at the highest level.

“Clement has done well since coming in, and you can see Rangers improving,” the Celtic legend commented. “But the challenge for them is whether they can sustain it. If they don’t invest properly, if they don’t close the gap, Celtic could go on another run like they did before – and this time, they might just get to 10.”

Rangers have shown signs of revival under Clement, closing the gap on Celtic in the league and securing silverware with the Viaplay Cup win. However, with the Hoops still holding the upper hand in the title race, concerns remain among the Ibrox faithful about whether their squad has the depth and quality to consistently challenge for trophies.

The pressure is on Rangers’ board to support Clement in the upcoming transfer windows, ensuring the team remains competitive. Meanwhile, Celtic remain focused on maintaining their dominance, knowing that another league triumph would put them on course for yet another era of sustained success.

The Old Firm rivalry remains as fierce as ever, and with the title race heating up, Rangers must prove they can prevent history from repeating itself—or risk watching Celtic surge ahead once again.
