2026 linebacker Karon Maycock commits to Florida State…
Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles have a new addition to their 2026 recruiting class, and it comes from a talented South Florida linebacker.
Karon Maycock is a 6’1”, 200 pound athlete from Miami Central High School. He is an underrated but very popular prospect and FSU likes him at linebacker, despite other schools recruiting him as a safety. This represents a nice victory on the trail over the Hurricanes in particular.

Florida State beat out the Alabama Crimson Tide, Arizona State Sun Devils, Florida Gators, Indiana Hoosiers, Louisville Cardinals, Miami Hurricanes, Missouri Tigers, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oklahoma Sooners, Ole Miss Rebels, Penn State Nittany Lions, SMU Mustangs, and Texas A&M Aggies, among others, for Maycock’s verbal pledge.
247Sports Composite has Maycock ranked as a three-star prospect and the 569th best player in the nation (62nd best LB and 90ty best player in FL). I’m telling you right now, there are not 568 better players in the country than Maycock. Expect his ranking to steadily rise.
In only eight games last season against excellent competition, Maycock totaled 62 tackles (17 for loss), three sacks, three pass breakups, and two forced fumbles. He quickly became a top target for FSU after performing well at the Elite Camp back in June 2024. He’s slated to officially visit Tallahassee on the June 20 weekend.
