Anthony Edwards is part of the Team USA basketball roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics, alongside other established stars like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid, and Jayson Tatum.
Edwards, the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NBA draft, recently had a remarkable playoff run for Minnesota, where he averaged 27.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game.
Edwards believes he is still the number one option for this Olympics team, telling reporters, “I’m still the number one option… They’ve got to fit in around me. That’s how I feel.”
At 22, Edwards is the youngest player on the squad, but he’s already shown his confidence and skills, earning him a spot on the All-NBA Second Team in 2024.
The Team USA basketball roster consists of players like Bam Adebayo, Devin Booker, Anthony Davis, Tyrese Haliburton, Jrue Holiday, Kawhi Leonard, and Jayson Tatum.
Team USA will begin its quest for a gold medal on July 28, facing off against a Nikola Jokić-led Serbia team.
