Tragic News: Gamecock Nation Mourns the Loss of Beloved Assistant Coach, Marcus Satterfield
Columbia, SC – The University of South Carolina’s Gamecock football community was dealt a devastating blow today as the program confirmed the sudden passing of assistant coach Marcus Satterfield.
Satterfield, 47, served as the Gamecocks’ offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach since 2020.
“It’s with profound sadness that we announce Coach Satterfield’s passing,” said Gamecocks’ Head Coach, Shane Beamer. “He was an exceptional coach, mentor, and friend.”
According to authorities, Satterfield passed away unexpectedly at his home early this morning.
