The former Green Bay Packer, David Bakhtiari, made a sensational offer to join the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes on one key condition: the Texas Tech Red Raiders beat the Colorado Buffaloes.
Bakhtiari played for the Boulder-based team in college as an offensive linesman whilst Mahomes came out of the Texas Tech program in 2017 as the 33-year-old staked a friendly wager on the college football clash.
Bakhtiari posted to X.com, formerly Twitter, “Hey @PatrickMahomes, if your @TexasTechFB beat my @CUBuffsFootball, I’ll come play left tackle for you.”
He is currently without a team following the end of his 10-year stint with the Packers after the organization decided to release him following a few a series of injuries since the start of the 2021 season.
Meanwhile Mahomes will prepare to take on the Denver Broncos in Week 10 of the 2024/25 NFL season when he welcomes them to the Arrowhead Stadium, looking to maintain his 100% winning start to the campaign.
Will Bakhtiari be joining the Kansas City Chiefs?
Unfortunately for the Californian, he will not be strapping up in Kansas City Chiefs’ armor any time soon as Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes soundly won the match at the Jones AT&T Stadium 41-27 in front of 60,000 people.
Travis Hunter starred, once again, in the contest by making 99 yards from nine receptions and one touchdown as the receiver, who also doubles as a cornerback, continues to make a name for himself.
Whilst the team’s quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, threw for 291 yards from 43 attempts (69.8% completion) and three touchdowns in the win as he looks to put himself into the Heisman Trophy contest.
The Buffaloes have now improved their record to 7-2 for the campaign and 5-1 within the Big 12 Conference as they find themselves in second place, one game behind the Brigham Young University Cougars.
