Legendary American football coach Monte Kiffin passed away on July 11, 2024, at the age of 85. Kiffin was a renowned defensive coordinator who spent over 40 years coaching in the NFL and college football. He was known for his “Tampa 2” defense, which emphasized speed and agility. Kiffin’s coaching career included stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennessee Volunteers, and Dallas Cowboys. He won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers in 2002 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2017. Kiffin is survived by his wife, four children, and six grandchildren. The football community mourns the loss of a coaching icon and innovator.
